The four time Grammy Award-nominee, Joey DeFrancesco has more than 30 recordings as a leader under his belt, has received countless awards and accolades worldwide, including being inducted into the inaugural Hammond Organ Hall of Fame in 2014, the Philadelphia Music Walk of Fame in 2016 as well as topping the Critics Polls in DownBeat Magazine eleven times over the past fifteen years and the Readers Polls every year since 2005. Joey officially emerged on the jazz scene in 1989 at the age of seventeen, resurrecting the Hammond B3 organ as a viable jazz medium. While many artists like Jimmy Smith, Jimmy McGriff or Jack McDuff were still playing great, there were no young artists on the horizon to carry the torch for future generations. Joey DeFrancesco has been carrying that torch for many decades now, and anyone who has heard this guy play can attest that he has taken B3-playing to a whole new level. Joey’s new album, “More Music», featuring his new trio, is due out September 24. The master organist, who has long supplemented his keyboard virtuoso with his skilled trumpet playing, here brings out his full arsenal: organ, keyboard, piano, trumpet, and, for the first time on record, tenor saxophone. To hear Joey DeFrancesco today, his music embodies the traditional art form infused with a distinct modern approach, just part of what makes his music unmistakably his own. Jazz guitarist Peter Bernstein has been a part of the jazz scene in New York and abroad since 1989. During that time he has participated in numerous recordings and performances with musicians from all generations. As a leader, Peter has released nine albums and a DVD. As a sideman Peter has appeared in groups led by Sonny Rollins, Bobby Hutcherson, George Coleman, Lou Donaldson, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Fathead Newman, Joshua Redman, Brad Mehldau, Diana Krall, Lee Konitz, Jimmy Cobb and many more.
